Mark D. Switzer

Mark D. Switzer, 46, died unexpectedly November 19, 2012, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Maura A. (Soares) Switzer. Born in Brockton, he was raised and educated in Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School in Easton. He also was a graduate of Bridgewater State College, class of 1989. He was a longtime resident of Norton. He worked as the food service director for Easton Lincoln Nursing Home in Easton for several years and also worked at Fridays and Friendly's in Mansfield. Primarily, he worked as a stay at home father with his children. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Norton. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and friend and could always be counted on for a helping hand or a spirited conversation.

He was the father of Dominic J., Charles M., Hayden J. and Max D. Switzer all of Norton. He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth A. (Tucker) Switzer and Donald L. Switzer of Easton and his siblings, David L. of Easton, Michael J. of Franklin and Jane M. Martin of NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, November 24, at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 1 Power St., Norton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
