Marjorie M. (Jefferson) White

Marjorie (Jefferson) White, passed away on Tuesday, October 3 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Clifton White. Born in Kentville, Nova Scotia on February 13, 1923, Marjorie moved to the United States as a young girl and settled in Stoughton. She was educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School in 1942. She spent her entire working career in food service, beginning as a waitress at the Stoughton Diner, followed by Jeff's 58 in Hanson, for the longest part of her career and eventually, she and her sister, Hazel Madan, opened their own restaurant, "The Weownit" in Pembroke. Marjorie continued serving food until she was 87.

She is survived by: her son, Jeffery and his wife Cynthia and three grandchildren; Zachariah, Bethany, Lucas, two sisters, Eleanor Tardie and Helen Zampi and a great number of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by; her husband, Clifton, her grandson Sam, and her brothers, John, Ernie, Wilfred, and Walter Jefferson and sister, Hazel.

Marjorie was born into the family of God, through faith in Jesus Christ on Easter of 1982. She loved her family, telling stories, serving people food, and lived a generous life. When she passed, her checkbook was empty, all of her possessions were contained in one box and she had lived a rich life.
