Marjorie L. "Midge" (Pittsavage) Kelley

Marjorie L. “Midge” (Pittsavage) Kelley, 96, died at her home in Stoughton, surrounded by her beloved family on Monday, June 26, 2023. Born in Stoughton, she was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. She was also a graduate of Waltham Nursing School. Midge worked as a nurse in the Army Cadet Nursing Corps during WWII and later as a nurse for several years before becoming a dedicated stay at home mother. She married James R. “Brud” Kelley, and together they spent over 65 years married and raised 4 loving children. She was a member of the Stoughton Historical Society and the Robert Bartlett Society of Plymouth. Midge was known for her positive, unselfish outlook in all situations, and her generous ways. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, spending time with her beloved family and a good piece of chocolate. 

Midge is survived by her children, Judy A. Melchert of Brockton, James P. Kelley of Stoughton and Brian F. Kelley and his fiancé Lynn Carcio of CT. She was predeceased by her husband Capt. James R. “Brud” Kelley, Stoughton PD (Ret), her son Michael K. Kelley and her son in law Gary Melchert. She is also survived by her daughter in law Celia Kelley of Easton, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 4-7 PM with Funeral Prayers following at 7PM. Graveside services will be held at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Central St. Stoughton on Thursday, July 6, at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Midge’s memory may be made to the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission, POB 610, Thoreau, NM 87323 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
