Marjorie B. Hodgman

Marjorie B. (Buckley) Hodgman, 88, died peacefully at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, December 29, with her family by her side. Daughter of the late Dr. George A. and Mary E. (Harvey) Buckley, she was born and raised in Brockton. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton until moving to Heritage at Framingham 3 years ago. Marjorie was a graduate of Dana Hall School in Wellesley and Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Bridgewater State College. Marjorie taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades in the Brockton Public Schools for 30 years before retiring in 1989. She loved her students and touched the lives of hundreds of children and colleagues. She had a special fondness for her colleague Peter Smith of Harwich. She enjoyed her many years and friends at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, and will miss all of her friends and the loving staff at Heritage.

Marjorie is survived by her loving children, Nancy Rabinowitz and her husband Brad of Burlington, VT and Charles S. Hodgman, Jr. and his wife Leslee of Millis. She was the beloved grandmother of Cameron S. Hodgman and the late Ian MacInnes Hodgman. She was the sister of the late Ruth Doyle, Barbara Kickham and David Buckley. She is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton on Saturday, January 4 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's memory may be sent to the Brockton Educational Foundation, Inc., Attn: Aldo Petronio, 43 Crescent St., Brockton, MA 02301.
