Marjorie F. (Hayes) Gallagher Monahan

Marjorie F. (Hayes) Gallagher Monahan, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at the AccentCare Hospice in Milton on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was the wife of the late Owen L. Monahan. Daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Buckley) Hayes, she was born and raised in Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School, Class of 1953. Known as Margie to her family and friends, she lived and raised her family in Stoughton for over 25 years and later moved to Dennis for 18 years before residing in Canton for the past 14 years. Margie worked as a certified nursing assistant with the Visiting Nurses of Cape Cod for 16 years before retiring 20 years ago. She loved spending time at the ocean and on the beaches of Cape Cod, enjoyed collecting music and loved reading, especially history novels. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Margie was the loving mother of Elaine M. Gallagher of Taunton, Mary M. Sisinni and her family from Melville NY, Kelly Ann Harrington and her husband Robert of Quincy. She was the devoted Nana to Olivia and John Sisinni, Danielle Gallagher and Brooke Harrington. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Hayes, Dorothy Goggin and Joan Carney and by her former husband, John Gallagher. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at a date to be announced.
