Marie T. (Carrara) Slaney, 92, died at home in Stoughton on Tuesday, October 25 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Alfred H. Slaney. Born and educated in Canton, Mrs. Slaney was a resident of Stoughton since 1941. She was a homemaker at home with her family and also worked at Plymouth Rubber Co. in Stoughton for many years before retiring many years ago. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Slaney is survived by her children, Patricia M. Virden and her husband Judson of WA, William D. Slaney and his wife Linda of Stoughton, Roberta J. Place and her husband Theodore of ME and Florence M. Canavan and her husband Charles, Jr. of Bridgewater, as well as her sister, Eleanor Uliano of Sharon, her brother, Richard Carrara of NH and her daughter-in-law, Saundra Slaney of Mansfield. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Alfred H. Slaney, Jr. and her siblings, Dorothy Pesaturo, Ernest Carrara and Eva Dente.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, October 29 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM.
