Marie F. Lucas

Marie F. (Cousins) Lucas, 88, died Tuesday, March 17, at the Epoch Center of Harwich. She was the wife of 49 years of the late Peter Lucas. Born in Denver, CO, she was a graduate of Brockton Schools, Class of 1939. Mrs. Lucas was a resident of Stoughton from 1949 until 1990, when she moved to Harwich. Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker. She was a founding and active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton where she was a Deaconess and member of the choir. After moving to Harwich, she was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church in South Yarmouth. Mrs. Lucas was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and making clothing.
She is survived by her three sons; Paul G. Lucas of Stoughton, David A. Lucas of Wellfleet and Wayne A. Lucas of S. Easton. She was the sister of Carol L. Fritz of CO. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Bethany and Bryan.
Funeral service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, March 23 at 11:30 AM Visiting Hours Sunday 3-5 PM. Burial will be at the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 PM. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, the family has asked that donations in Marie's name may be made to the Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton St., Stoughton, 02072.
