Marie Theresa Jardin

Marie Theresa Jardin passed away to the Lord after a long battle with cancer on March 28, 2012. Marie's positive attitude and deep faith enabled her to live longer than had been medically predicted.

She was the daughter of the predeceased Joseph L. Regan and Margaret Regan. Born in Jamaica Plain, Marie later lived in Roslindale and Stoughton. She attended Roslindale High School, St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY, New York University and Cambridge College. She received her Master's degree in Speech Pathology and advanced training in head trauma special education.

Early in her career, Marie was a missionary in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Speech Therapist at the NY Foundling Hospital, the director of a children's shelter in Millbrook, NY, and ran a summer camp in Palenville, NY.

Later she went on to specialize in Special Education. Marie taught special need students at Stoughton HS for 15 years and was on the Principal's Advisory board and other committees. She retired in 1983, but continued working with physically challenged students at Mass Hospital School.

Marie loved music and was a member of the NY Choral Society which sang the Messiah at Carnegie Hall each year. She also played the organ for concerts at Mass Hospital School and sing-alongs at the Stoughton Council of Aging, where she served on the board for six years. Besides music, Marie was talented with crafts and taught several classes at the COA. She and her beloved husband of 37 years enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and visiting with family & friends.

Marie is predeceased by her husband Albert A. Jardin. She leaves her stepchildren and their spouses: Kevin and Carol Jardin of Millis, MA; Sheila and Bruce Wilson of Danville, NH; Kenneth and Monica Jardin of Hebron, CT; and Thomas and Joyce Jardin of Westford, MA. Also grandchildren: Pamela, Nathan, Stephen, Kitty, Sandra, Kerri-Anne, Scott, Philip, and Daniel; and great-children: Madison, Phoebe, Joshua and Cole. She also leaves a niece, Jean Regan and her husband Andrew Slobodian of Roslindale, MA and nephews Chris Regan and his wife Mary of Roslindale, MA, Brian Regan and his wife Sylvia of NC and Joseph Regan of South Boston, MA.

A Celebration of life Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Saturday, March 31 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. At her request there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or a charity of your choice.
