Marie L. (Mead) Golden, 92, a resident of South Easton, died peacefully at West Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Brockton on Tuesday, March 25. She was the wife of the late Dr. Joseph F. Golden, Jr. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of St. Gregory's School in Dorchester and Quincy College. Mrs. Golden was a resident of South Easton for the past 9 years after living in Canton and Stoughton for many years. She was a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 30 years before retiring at age 70. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Golden was the mother of Joseph F. Golden, III and his wife Sandra of N. Easton, Karyn M. Clancy and her husband Dana of Taunton, Michael J. Golden and his fiance Jane Farley of Wareham, William J. Golden and his wife Kate of Foxboro, Marianne Joyce and her husband James of Feeding Hills and the late Jane P. Johnson. She was the sister of Dorothy Howley and Jeanne Hickey both of Marion and the late Harold Mead. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, March 29 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
