Marie Anne "Faustanie" (Denis) Gay, 87, a resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Thursday, April 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Wesner Gay. Daughter of the late Fontane and Gracelia (Wagnac) Denis, she was born in Arniquet, Haiti and raised and educated in Les Cayes, Haiti. Mrs. Gay owned a store and bakery in Les Cayes, Haiti for over 20 years. She came to Brooklyn, NY in 1993 before moving to Stoughton in 2004. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Brockton and enjoyed knitting, crafts and especially spending time with her family.
Mrs. Gay is survived by her children, Magdala Gay of Brockton, Samuel Gay of New York, Daniel Gay of Methuen, Myriam Nicolas of Stoughton and Marcelle Darbouze of Florida. She was the sister of Paul Denis of Florida, Bonel Denis of Haiti, Immaculee Benjamin of New York, Marie-Anne Labossiere of Florida, Agnes Denis of New York and the late Robert, Faustin, Arthur and Felix Denis. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held from the First Church of the Nazarene, 89 North Pearl St., Brockton on Saturday, April 30 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
