Mariano R. Comunale, 93, died Thursday Night, May 18, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the beloved and devoted husband of 71 years of Tina M. (Rindone) Comunale. Born in Boston, he was raised in Fields Corner and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. He also earned his Bachelor's Degree from Boston State and did his Graduate Work at Ohio State. He was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Comunale worked as a teacher, department head and administrator at the Dorchester High School for many years, retiring several years ago. He also was the owner of Ashmont Upholstery for several years. He was an avid handyman and jack of all trades who enjoyed working in his shop, tending to his vegetable garden, playing guitar, boating, fishing, cooking and baking. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Comunale is survived by his daughters: Marianne G. Connolly and her husband George of Millis, Diane J. Comunale of Malden, Janet L. Smith and her husband George of Lakeville and Tina Marie E. Brunetto and her husband Dennis of Cambridge. He was the grandfather of Richard Comunale, Jonathan Smith, Kristina Smith, Leah Brunetto and the late Tanya Wright. He is survived by his great grandchildren Avellino Wright, Kyle Wright, Alison Wright and their father Donald "DJ" Wright. Mariano was the brother of Mary "Mae" Lauricella of Malden, Joseph Comunale of FL and the late Vincent Comunale. Ann D'Amato and Rose Johnstone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
