Maria (Goncalves) Vasconcelos, 75, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by her family on March 5, 2022. She was the wife of 52 years of Francisco H. Vasconcelos. Daughter of the late Joao Leonardo and Elvira Vasconcelos she was born and raised in Lomba, on the island of Flores in the Azores, Portugal. She came to the United States in 1970 and settled in Stoughton. She worked at Analog Devices for several years and later retired from SMT East in 2011. She was an active member of the Holy Ghost Society at Club Luis Camoes and the Immaculate Conception Church, both in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, traveling, dancing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Maria is survived by her children, Ruben Vasconcelos and his fiancé Denise Cardinal of Bridgewater, Patricia Graham and her husband Scott of Seekonk and Rachel Vasconcelos and her partner Jorge Pena of Lynn. She was the sister of Francisco H. Goncalves of Stoughton and Maria Nazare Freitas and her husband Jose of Flores. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours Thursday, March 10th from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, March 11th at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
