Maria Angela Serpa, 85, a resident of Stoughton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, October 27. She was the daughter of the late Francisco and Jovina (Freitas) Serpa. Born in Lajedo, Flores, Azores, Portugal, she was a resident of Stoughton for 41 years. Ms. Serpa was a teacher, earning degrees both in Portugal and at Boston University. She also worked for many years at Analog Devices while taking care of her sick mother. In her free time she enjoyed taking pictures and making photo albums. She was an avid reader with a special interest in healing and medicine. Most of all she cherished time with her family and friends.
Ms. Serpa is survived by her sister, Maria C. Amaral and her brothers, Jose J. Serpa and Anthony DeSerpa and predeceased by her sister, Maria T. Correia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 31 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
