Maria D. (Matos) Reis, 80, died at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton on Wednesday, June 4. She was the wife of the late Jose Reis. Born and educated in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, she has lived in Brockton for 3 months after living in Stoughton for over 20 years and Florida for 3 years. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, gardening and plants.
Mrs. Reis is survived by her children, Maria Veiga and Angela Ribeiro both of FL, Lourdes Teixeira of Stoughton, Manuela Rivero of Mansfield and Jose Reis of Brockton, as well as her brother Manuel Cabral of Canada. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, June 7 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
