Maria A. (Medeiros) Medeiros, 91, died Wednesday at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a brief period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Joao Medeiros. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated there. Mrs. Medeiros moved to the United States in 1969 and settled in Stoughton. She worked as an assembler for Corcoran Shoe for several years, retiring over 30 years ago. Mrs. Medeiros was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed watching television and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Zelia M. Tavares and Custodio E. Medeiros both of Stoughton, Eduarda L. Pavao and Alvaro M. Medeiros both of Portugal and Carlos G. Medeiros of Waltham. She was the sister of Maria E. Cabral of Stoughton and the late Manuel, Antonio and Jose Medeiros. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 10 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-9 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
