Maria M. (Coelho) Martins

Maria M. (Coelho) Martins, 87, a resident of Canton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Jose G. Martins. Daughter of the late Miguel and Laura Rose (Salgado) Coelho, she was born and raised in Cascais, Portugal before moving to Stoughton in 1970. Maria worked at Analog Devices for 28 years before retiring in May of 1998. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her loving daughter, Maria J. Walsh and her husband Jimmy of Canton and her beloved granddaughters, Laura Rose Walsh and Kayla Grace Walsh. She was the sister of Anabella Simoes of Canada and the late Jose Coelho and Maria Grace Viana. She was the sister-in-law of Helder and Maria L. Martins, Maria Jose and the late Eduino Eduardo and Maria J. and the late Antonio Martins. She is also survived by Maria Alice Viana who was more of a best friend than her niece, her dear cousin Jose Fernando Coelho and many more nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her loyal canine companion, Benji. She will be remembered for her kindness.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, May 13 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
