Maria G. Gomes

Maria G. (Pereira) Gomes, 58, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Friday, September 17. She was the wife of the late Antonio Gomes. Born and educated in Pico Island, Azores, Portugal she moved to Stoughton in 1968. Mrs. Gomes was a childcare provider. When she wasn't taking care of children she enjoyed reading, word searches, camping down the Cape and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Society.
Mrs. Gomes is survived by her children, Paul G. Gomes and his wife Lisa of Foxboro, John O. Gomes of Stoughton and Jeffrey P. Gomes and his wife Erin of Stoughton as well as her granddaughter Tiffany. She is also survived by her companion Jose Serpa of Stoughton and her family living in Portugal.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 22 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
