Maria N. Freitas

Maria N. (Jorge) Freitas, 84, died Tuesday, August 26 at her home after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Jorge Freitas. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated there. She moved to the United States in 1969 and settled in Stoughton. Mrs. Freitas worked at Quality Steel in Stoughton from 1969 until her retirement in 1985. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening.

She is survived by her children: Duartina Serpa and her husband Joe of Canada and John Freitas and his wife Linda of Stoughton. She was the sister of Jose Jorge of Portugal, Deodette Fortuna of Brockton and Americ Jorge of FL. In addition to her husband, she was deceased by her children Joao and Anibal. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, August 30 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7 PM.
