Maria Rodrigues DoVale, 90, died Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. Born on the island of Madeira, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Madeira. Ms. DoVale came to the United States almost 50 years ago and settled in Stoughton. She worked at TJ Maxx in Stoughton for several years, retiring many years ago. Ms. DoVale was a longtime devoted communicant and Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. In her free time she enjoyed sewing.
Maria was the sister of Rita Machado of Stoughton and Gabriela Rodrigues and Agueda DoVale both of Portugal and the late Diogo, Henrique, Manuel, Joaquim, Gloria and Teresa DoVale. She was the daughter of the late Teresa deJesus and Manuel R. DoVale. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, March 28 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
