Maria N. (Andrade) DaCosta

Maria N. (Andrade) DaCosta, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Watertown Rehabilitation Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was the wife of the late Jose A. DaCosta. Daughter of the late Francisco and Candida (Gomes) Andrade, she was born and raised on the island of Flores in the Azores, Portugal. She resided in Stoughton for the past 45 years. Maria worked for Analog Devices in Norwood for many years before retiring 27 years ago. She also was a seamstress for many years. She was a member of Sociedade Filarmonica São João in Stoughton and was very helpful with seamstress work for the club band, the Carnaval Dance group clothing and other group clothing at the club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and puzzles but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Maria is survived by her daughters, Niveria M. Laureano and Anabela A. Costa both of Stoughton as well as her grandson, Tyler Laureano. She was the sister of Benilde Lourenco of Falmouth, Idalina Vieira and Antonio Andrade both of Canada, Noel Andrade of Spring Hill, FL and the late Albino Andrade. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
