Maria O. (Martins) Cesar Castro, 84, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Tuesday, June 9 at the Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Abilio Cesar Castro. Born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she moved to Stoughton in 1959. She worked for Analog Devices in Norwood for 25 years before retiring in 1992. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and pets.
Mrs. Cesar Castro is survived by her children, Joseph A. Castro and his wife Cindy of Hull, John M. Castro and his wife Giti of Newton, Charles E. Castro and his wife Karen of Taunton and Alban C. Castro of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Tina and Joey Tays, Mandy McCartney, Marcus de Castro and Paul and Alexandra Castro.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, June 13 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Maria's name may be made to Michael J.
