Maria L. (Salema) Carreiro

Maria L. (Salema) Carreiro, 71, a resident of Canton, died peacefully at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. She was the wife of the late Antonio P. Carreiro. Daughter of the late Antonio Salema and Maria Liliana Guerreiro, she was born and raised in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. Maria resided in Canton for the past 10 years after living in Warwick, RI for 15 years. She worked in various jewelry warehouses in Rhode Island for several years. Maria was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Maria was the mother of Antonio M. Carreiro of Fall River and the late Luizinha Carreiro. She was the grandmother of Troy, Stacy and Isabella Carreiro. She was the sister of Natalia Correia of São Miguel, Azores, Antonio Salema of Dartmouth, Fernanda Braga of Canton and Alice Carreiro of North Carolina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Monday, January 29 from 10-11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private.
