Maria L. (Pinheiro) Branco, 102, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, January 27, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Jose Pacheco Branco. Daughter of the late Manuel Pinheiro Lemos and Filomena Leonor Pinheiro, she was born and raised in Faial, Azores, Portugal. She came the U.S. in 1966 and settled in Stoughton. Maria was an assembler at Ark-Les Switch in Stoughton for many years until her retirement. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and enjoyed praying. She also enjoyed crocheting but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maria was the mother of Manuel H. Branco and his wife Maria, Jose N. Branco and his wife Eduardina and the late Miguel P. Branco and his surviving wife, Ligia Branco Serpa all of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Maria Freitas, Nelson Branco, Michael Branco, Gina Costeira, Sandy Branco, Richard Branco, Danny Branco and Melanie Yates. She was the sister of Elsa Pinheiro of Portugal and the late Ana Pinheiro DaRosa. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, a niece, a nephew and several godchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 1 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
