Marguerite M. (McDermott) Catalano, 87, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Webster Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockland, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Catalano. Born in Canton, she was raised in Canton and was a graduate of St. John's School and Canton High School. Mrs. Catalano was a resident of Stoughton since 1951. She worked as an inspector for Marshall Paper Tube in Randolph for over 25 years and retired over 20 years ago. Mrs. Catalano was a longtime communicant and volunteer at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was a member of the Minerva Lodge Daughters of Italy. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, word search puzzles, ice skating and spending time with her beloved family.
Mrs. Catalano was the mother of Diane M. Alden-Manory and her husband Richard Manory of NH, Faith P. Mendonza and her husband Mark of Brockton, Stephen P. Catalano and his wife Brenda and Michael Catalano, all of Stoughton. She was the sister of Beatrice Frost and her husband George of NY. She was the grandmother of Derek Alden and the great grandmother of Brittney and Kyle Alden.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 12 Noon followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 1PM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Margie's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
