Margaret M. "Peggy" (Minton) Whiffen, 73, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully, Friday, July 27 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of 53 years of the late Henry J. "Hank" Whiffen. Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1956. Mrs. Whiffen was a resident of Stoughton since 1965. She was a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, Bingo, gardening, watching the Red Sox and especially spending time with her family. She dedicated her life to taking care of her husband.
Mrs. Whiffen is survived by her children; June M. Bouchard of Mansfield, Susan LoDico of East Falmouth, Michael D. Whiffen of Easton, Jeanette L. Whiffen of Abington, Christine A. Ringler of Foxboro, John T. Whiffen of Avon and Charles E. Whiffen of Stoughton. She was the sister of Bernadette Andrews of TX and Robert Minton of Norwood. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, July 31 at 7:30 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4:30-7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
