Margaret L. Smith

Margaret L. "Midge" (Gunn) Smith, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on Friday, July 10. She was the wife of the late William H. Smith. Born in Watertown, she was a graduate of Brighton High School, Class of 1939. She was a resident of Stoughton for the past 55 years. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was Past President of the Stoughton PTA and a member of the American Legion Post 89 Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Margaret "Midge" Wright and husband Paul of Middleboro, Sandra Salus of CT, Susan Sellon and her husband Ronald of Mansfield, William H. Smith, Jr. and his wife Karen Meagher of Stoughton and Lu-Anne Beers and her husband Jeffrey of Franklin. She was the grandmother of Paul, Dean, Eric, Brian, Kathlene, Ronald, William, Jaime and Andrew. She was the sister of Anna Champlin of OH. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 15 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Midge's name may be made to Joslin Diabetes Ctr., 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
