Margaret L. Schmidt

Margaret L. (VanderMulen) Schmidt, 72, a resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, February 19 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James C. Schmidt, Jr. Born in Jersey, City, NJ, she was educated in New Jersey schools. Mrs. Schmidt was a resident of Stoughton for over 10 years after living in Canton for 30 years. She was a salesperson at WR Grace in Canton for 25 years before retiring 10 years ago. She donated to many charities, mainly the Shriner's Hospital, American Cancer Society and ASPCA.
Mrs. Schmidt was the mother of Joanne Boylan and her husband James of Brockton, Lisa Sylvia of Onset and the late Mary Schmidt and James "Chuck" Schmidt. She was the grandmother of Ryan, Steven, David, Danielle, Amanda and Samantha and the great-grandmother of Daniela. She was the sister of Mary Johnson, Helen McGuire and August Bernaertz all of NJ and the late Karl Bernaertz. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private. Donations in Margaret's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
