Margaret R. "Peggy" (Bennett) Paiva, 74, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was the wife of the late Francis V. Paiva. Daughter of the late Aloysius and Regina (DiCandio) Bennett, she was born in Cambridge, raised in East Cambridge and educated in Sacred Heart School and Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. She was a resident of Brockton for over 50 years. Mrs. Paiva worked in life insurance sales for Brockton Savings Bank for over 20 years before being a hostess at Bickford's on Belmont Street in Brockton for over 10 years. She retired 15 years ago. She volunteered at St. Edward's School in Brockton and enjoyed ceramics. She especially loved spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Daisy.
Peggy was the mother of Cheryl A. Williams of N. Easton, Francis V. Paiva, Jr. and his wife Norma of Halifax and the late Ronald P. Paiva. She was the grandmother of Michael Paiva, Jessica and Matthew Williams, Francis Paiva, III, Ryan and Kevin Paiva, as well as the great-grandmother of Shaylee, Kaitlyn and Brianna. She was the sister of Joan Bennett of E. Boston and Carolyn Burke of Arlington and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, March 14 at 7:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein Church, Brockton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Donations in Peggy's memory may be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
