Margaret Mary (McGarvey) Lindberg, 85, died Saturday, March 13 at the Harrington House in Walpole. She was the wife of Robert B. "Lindy" Lindberg. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Washington DC and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. As a young girl she summered on Lake Massapoag in Sharon, but this is not were she met her husband Lindy. A priest introduced the two at a military dance at the USO in Washington D.C. They married in 1947 and moved to Dorchester and had resided in Sharon since 1948. She was employed as a Teachers Aide for several years at the intermediate school in Sharon. Later in life she volunteered at Borderland State Park in Easton, as a guide. Both Lindy and Margaret volunteered at the Sharon Historical Society. She loved traveling, going to the movies and reading a good book at Barnes & Noble. She will be missed by her family and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Nancy A. Lindberg of Falmouth, Mary Lou Mihovan and her Husband George Michael Mihovan of Nahant, James R. Lindberg of Easton, Thomas P. Lindberg of Sharon and the late Edward F. Lindberg. She was the sister of Donald McGarvey of Sarasota, FL and the late Patricia Lindberg. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Diana, Jennifer and Mathew Lindberg all of Easton and Erik Mihovan of Nahant.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St.(Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, March 17th at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Cottage St. Sharon at 10:00am. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
