Margaret "Fran" (Hughes) Kilday, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. She was the wife of 64 years of Francis J. Kilday. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. Mrs. Kilday was a resident of Stoughton since 1953. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She worked as a Traffic Supervisor for the Stoughton Police Department for several years. She later worked as an assembler for Hazeltine Corporation in Braintree from 1974-1991. She was a member of the Stoughton Junior Woman's Club and the Fieldbrook Young Women's Club. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Kilday was the mother of Constance A. O'Brien of Quincy, John F. "Jack" Kilday and Robert J. Kilday both of Norton, Paul J. Kilday of Marshfield, Francis J. Kilday of NC, Judith M. Kilday, Margaret "Meg" Floro, Anne E. Greer and Richard E. Kilday all of Stoughton. She was the sister of Dorothy Commerford of Plainville and the late Elizabeth Hughes and Ernest Hughes. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Fran's memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., W. Bridgewater, 02379.
