Margaret Fernandes

Margaret (Pombo) Fernandes, 90, died Tuesday, November 20, at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Center in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Anthony Fernandes. Born in East Taunton, she moved to Madeira, Portugal at age 2. She moved back to the United States in 1940, settled in Stoughton in 1942 where she has resided since. She worked for Quality Craft in Stoughton for over 25 years, retiring at age 69. She was a member of the Portuguese National Club Women's Auxiliary in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and candlepin bowling.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Anthony R. Fernandes, Jr. of East Bridgewater and her grandchildren, Russell Fernandes, Tony Fernandes, Terry Warner and Robert Warner. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary L. Warner and her 3 brothers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, November 26 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton
