Margaret G. "Peg" (Austin) Berry, 94, died April 6, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Robert Berry and was a resident of West Bridgewater for 67 years before moving to Stoughton 2 years ago. Born in Quechee, VT, she was raised in Woodstock, VT and was a graduate of Woodstock Schools. She was a former longtime member of the West Bridgewater Baptist Church and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, camping, taking nature walks, visiting state parks and was active in 4-H. Above all, she loved her Lord and spending time with her family.
She was the beloved mother of Katherine M. Doherty and her husband Larry of Bridgewater, Patricia A. Dearing and her husband Daniel of TN, Virginia R. Berry of Stoughton and the late Donald A. Berry. She was the mother-in-law of Judith Berry of Middleboro, and aunt of Linda (Cain) Snelgrove and her husband, Stanley of Raynham. She was the sister of Bettie Crandall of CA, Harvey Austin of CO, Ellen Moyer and Kenneth Austin both of VT, and the late Philip Austin and David Austin. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Visiting Hour will be held in the Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton St., Stoughton, MA on Saturday April 12 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
