Manuel Simas, Sr.

Manuel Simas, Sr., age 80, passed away on April 21, 2023 at the PAM Specialty Hospital in Stoughton. He was the devoted husband to Delfina Rosa (Pereira) Simas for 59 loving years. Born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Maria (Bulcao) and Manuel Simas, and moved to the states at 19 years old. He worked as a machine operator for Chase and Sons, Inc. in Randolph for over 20 years before retiring, and went on to continue working at BJ’s for several years after his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and absolutely loved going camping in his motorhome to all different places. He would travel to Maine, Florida, and Cape Cod to camp with his family, and one of his favorite things to do on his trips was make pancakes for all of his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Manuel is survived by his children Maria R. Simas and her life partner Joe Morkrisky of Stoughton, and Manuel C. Simas and his wife Kimberly of Whitman. He is also survived by his sister Noelia of Portugal, and his grandchildren Manuel Alexander Simas, Derek Faria, Selena Faria, and Michael Simas, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Thursday, April 27^th from 4-7PM. A Funeral will be held at the funeral home the next day, Friday April 28^th at 9:15AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Manuel’s memory may be made to Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
