Manuel Pacheco, 69, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Eduarda C. (Correia) Pacheco for 48 years. He was born and raised in So Miguel, Aores. He moved to the United States in 1963 and settled in Cambridge. In 1984, he moved his family to Stoughton and founded Pacheco Hardware. Mr. Pacheco faithfully worked alongside his family for 26 years until his retirement in 2010. After retirement, Manny and his wife became residents of Wareham, Massachusetts. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Pacheco enjoyed spending time at the ocean, quahoging, and traveling. He loved playing Suea and dancing. Manny was an avid fan of the Sporting Soccer Club and a member of Club Luis de Camoes, the Portuguese National Club and the San Joao Filharmonic Society all in Stoughton. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he survived by his children, Ann Azul and her husband Lino and Manny Pacheco Jr. and his wife Sally, all of Stoughton. He was the beloved grandfather of Samantha Cardoso and her husband Joseph, Ashley Azul, Lino Azul, Nicole Pacheco, Christopher Pacheco and Nathan Pacheco. He was the great grandfather of Joey Cardoso and Nah'Cieme Cox. Mr. Pacheco was the brother of Maria Adelaide Pascoal and Dorvalina Pascoal both of Canada, Maria do Carmo Pacheco of FL, Elvira Pina of Methuen, Alvaro Pacheco of Somerville, Laura Miola of Taunton and the late Fatima Tavares. Manny was the brother in law of Clara Nogueira of Canada and Arturo DaSilva of Billerica. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Manny's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
