Manuel P. Oliveira, 96, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, July 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Liduina A. (Graca) Oliveira for the past 63 years. Son of the late Manuel P. Oliveira and Maria do Carmo Vieira Pereira, he was born and raised in Fazenda de Nordeste, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1978. Manuel was a machine operator for Cumberland Farms in Canton for many years before retiring at age 67. He enjoyed playing the guitar and gardening but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Manuel is survived by his children, Nuno Oliveira and his wife Linda, Antonio Oliveira and his wife Alvarina and Cidalia Letourneau and her husband Arthur all of Stoughton, Silvino Oliveira and his wife Lucia and Rita Williams and her husband Francis both of Taunton, Fatima Gawenki and her husband Luke of South Carolina and Jorgina Oliveira and her partner Melissa Allen of South Dennis. He was the brother of the late Virginia Graca, Conceicao Oliveira and Serafin Oliveira. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, July 10 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
