Manuel J. Gonsalves, 98, of Mashpee, died peacefully Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the loving husband of the late Eleanor (Lattanzio) Gonsalves. Born in Stoughton, Mr. Gonsalves was a mechanic and owned Burroughs Auto Service in Jamaica Plain. He enjoyed gardening, watching baseball, being a repairman and especially liked spending time with his family.
Manuel is survived by his sons, Joe Gonsalves and his wife Mary Anne of Randolph and Anthony Gonsalves and his wife Pam of Sharon. He was the grandfather of Cathy, Kristen, Judith and Justin and great-grandfather of Gianna. He was the brother of Isabel Hinchliffe of Stoughton, Edward Gonsalves of North Easton and Terri McGrath of FL and was survived by many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Ms. Rosemarie DeGaust and her family of Middleborough.
Funeral Service will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, July 2 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
