Mabel E. (White) Costello, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 23 at her home. She was the wife of the late Edward T. Costello. Born in Readville, she was raised and educated in Roslindale and was a graduate of Roslindale High School. Mrs. Costello was a resident of Stoughton since 1961 and a member and Elder of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians. She worked as an office manager for Park Dental in Stoughton for many years, retiring in 2001. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her family, friends and cousins and going out to lunch.
Mrs. Costello was the beloved mother of Mark E. Costello of Easton and Christine C. Varano and her husband Anthony of Duxbury. She was the grandmother of Kenny and Kyle Costello, Sara Varano and Amie Varano. She was the sister of Marylyn Mullen of Falmouth and the late Wilbur White, John White, Nelson White, William White, Harriet Fox, and Laura Donehey. She is also survived by her two cats, Teddy and Sophie and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 28 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
