Lydia H.E. (Ingram) Busby, 82, was born December 1, 1939, She passed away peacefully Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a long period of declining health. She was married to late Leon D. Busby. Born in Boston, Lydia was raised and educated in Roxbury and Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston English High School. In 1974, along with her husband, she moved her young family to Stoughton and had enjoyed the past 48 years as a resident of the town. She worked for BayBank and later Bank of America in Stoughton for many years. She then retired in 1998. Lydia was a longtime, dedicated parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Lydia was a gifted freehand drawing artist and seamstress, who enjoyed sewing. She made clothing for all her children in their early grade school years. She was avid bingo player who loved to be around her many friends. Above all, she loved spending time with her beloved family.
Lydia was the loving mother of Marc W. Busby of Middleboro MA, Dana J. Busby of Holiday FL, Maria N. L. Busby of Attleboro MA and the late Darren G. Busby of Newport News Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Mary "Ma" and Henry C. Ingram. Sister of Henry Ingram of Brockton, Clay Ingram and Rodney Ingram both of Stoughton, Francine Scott of Barnstable and was predeceased by Olga Scott, Calvert Ingram and Mary Evelyn Smith. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren (Patrick, Sasha, Tristan, Jerrell/Basil, Dante, Darnell, Leiandra, Ilana, Kisha, Marquis, Janai, Sade) 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, March 6th from 2-5 PM. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, March 7th at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
