Luisa D. (Faria) Vargas, 87, a resident of North Easton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Wednesday, March 4 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Jacinto I. Vargas. Born and raised in Faial, Azores, Portugal, she was a resident of North Easton for 9 years after living in Stoughton for 35 years. Mrs. Vargas was a machine operator at Analog Devices in Norwood for 10 years before retiring at age 65. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and her greatest love was raising her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vargas is survived by her children, Carlos F. Vargas and his wife Kathleen and Natalia M. Vargas all of Stoughton, Joseph A. Vargas and his wife Brenda of North Easton and Mario J. Vargas and his wife Jennifer of South Easton. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Ana Duarte and her other siblings, Alberto, Jose, Francisco and Elias Faria and Maria Bulcao. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, March 8 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Luisa's memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.
