Luis M. Sousa, 79, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton. Born in St. Michael's, Azores, Portugal, he was raised and educated in St. Michael's. Mr. Sousa moved to the United States in 1978 and settled in Cambridge where he lived for many years. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1997. He worked in the Kitchen at the Parker House in Boston for over 15 years, retiring over 25 years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his siblings, Eduarda Freitas of Stoughton, Evelina Sousa and Estrela Cunha both of Cambridge and Fernanda Araujo and Marcelino Sousa both of Canada. He was predeceased by his brothers, Mariano and Jose Sousa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, January 23 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 5-7 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
