Luis N. Faria, 76, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at his home after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of 47 years of Maria A. (Rodrigues) Faria. Born and raised in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he came to the United States in 1969 and settled in Stoughton. He worked as a machinist for Chase and Sons in Randolph for many years and retired 11 years ago. Mr. Faria was a member of Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton. A handyman, in his free time, he enjoyed gardening, winemaking, riding his motorcycle, watching TV with his dog and working around his home and garden.
He was the devoted father of Aldina M. Santos and her husband Jose, Michael L. Faria and Danny L. Faria all of Stoughton. He was the loving grandfather of Patrick and Andrew Santos. He was the brother of Joaquin Faria of AZ, Antonio DeFaria of RI, Manuel Faria of CA, Maria Faria Gaspar and Eduina Faria Dias both of Portugal, Ana Faria Bettencourt of CA and the late Jose Faria. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, October 15, at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday, October 14, from 3-7 PM.
