Lucy C. (LaCava) Cardella, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Bridges of Epoch in Westwood on Thursday, March 5, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James R. Cardella. Daughter of the late Anthony and Jennie (Costa) LaCava, she was born and raised in Dorchester. Lucy was a graduate of Girls High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for the past 48 years. She was a LSM Operator for the U.S. Postal Service, working at the South Postal Annex in Boston for 25 years before retiring at age 62.
Lucy is survived by her children, James W. Cardella, Mary Jean Pardi and Anthony C. Cardella all of Stoughton and Janet A. Ilacqua of Easton. She was the grandmother of Jennifer Barr, Matthew, Christopher and Jeanine Ilacqua, Ashley Mulcahy, James, MaryAnne, Lauren and Heather Cardella and Julianne Cardella Baxter and great-grandmother of Madison Barr. She was the sister of Annette LaDue of Stoughton and the late Lillian Crispi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, March 9 from 10-11:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 12 PM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Lucy's memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
