Lucilia P. (Noia) Nunes, 78, a resident of Bridgewater, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, September 26, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Antonio F. Nunes for 55 years. Daughter of the late Roberto and Arminda (Pereira) Noia, she was born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal. She was a resident of Stoughton for 30 years before moving to Bridgewater 13 years ago. Mrs. Nunes was a homemaker. She also worked in manufacturing at Polaroid in Norwood for 20 years before retiring 20 years ago. Lucilia was a longtime and very active communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking and delighted in the company of her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Lucilia is survived by her sons, Maurice A. Nunes and his wife Robin of Foxboro and John B. Nunes, Massachusetts State Police, and his wife Jill of Bridgewater, as well as her grandchildren, Rachel, Kayla, Jake, Kyle and Ryan Nunes. She was the sister of Arminda Manes of Portugal and the late Jose Noia. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Rosa Sousa and her husband Tony and their 3 sons, William, Mark and Luke as well as several nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, September 30 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
