Lucila “Lucy” (Mallari) Lauron, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at the Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Canton on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. She was the wife of the late Ildefonso T. Lauron. Daughter of the late Julian and Dolores (Mascarenas) Mallari, she was born and raised and educated in the Philippines and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Philippine Women’s University. After graduating from college, she resided in Montreal, Canada before moving to the Boston Area and eventually settled in Stoughton. Lucy worked as a dietician at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain. She then owned and operated a home daycare in Stoughton, enriching the lives of toddlers and children for many years. She was a longtime loyal parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and as a Prayer Group Leader. She was also a member of the Filipino Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Boston. A gifted cook, Lucy specialized in Filipino cuisine and teriyaki steaks. In her free time, she enjoyed attending cultural food festivals and spending quality time with her beloved family.
Lucy is survived by her children, Ildefonso M. “Jay” Lauron, Jr., and his wife Jodi currently of North Bellmore, NY and Ligaya L. Hannaford and her husband Chuck of Stoughton. She was the loving Lola of Avery Lauron, Mason Lauron, Mia “Phoenix” Hannaford, Chloe Hannaford, and Ella Hannaford. She is also survived by many loving family members around the world.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, November 16 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
