Lubelia "Bingy" Gomes-Bautista, 50, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. She was the loving wife of George A. Bautista. Born in Stoughton, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1986. Lubelia was a resident of Bourne since 2001. Prior to that, she lived in California for over 15 years. She worked as a the State Housing Administrator at the Bourne Housing Authority for several years. She was also a member of the Bourne Board of Housing. She was very active in several cancer support groups in the Bourne area. Lubelia enjoyed spending time camping in New Hampshire, going to the beach, collecting sea glass and quahogging. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, gardening, crafts, cooking and spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Dimitri A. Bautista and Benicio A. Bautista both of Bourne. She was the daughter of Alzria (Rocha) Gomes of Stoughton and the late Antonio D. Gomes, who died Sept 2. She was the sister of Lubelio "Tony" Gomes of CA, Luis Gomes of Taunton and Diane Gomes of Buzzards Bay. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte 27) Stoughton on Monday, September 10 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM.
