Lourdes "Ludy" (Jardin) Silva, aged 98, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, in Plainville, CT. She was the wife of the late Alfred Silva. Born on December 2, 1925, she was raised and educated in Stoughton, and was a resident of Stoughton on Clapp Street for over 50 years. She moved to Plainville, CT over 20 years ago to be closer to her family. While in Stoughton, she was a dedicated communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and found great solace and community through her faith. Ludy was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker who spent several years moving with her family while her husband honorably served in several different assignments in the US Navy. Known for her kind and loving spirit, she abandoned those values while playing cards and was a ruthless card player. However, her warmth and generosity touched all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Ludy is survived by her son, Alfred Silva Jr.; grandchildren John Lozefski and his wife Marisol, and Dawn Lozefski; and great-grandchildren Anthony, Isabel, and Samantha Lozefski all of CT. In addition to her husband Alfred Silva, she was predeceased by her daughter Joann Silva and her daughter Linda Lozefski who died two days after Ludy, on August 25, 2024. Ludy was the loving sister of Isabelle Murphy of FL, Mary Cleary of W. Bridgewater, and the late Tony Jardin, Frank Jardin, William “Bally” Jardin, Moses Jardin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Visiting Hour will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass held in her honor at the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.
