Lourdes (Correia) DeSousa, 89, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Center in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Antonio DeSousa. Born in Madeira, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Madeira. She moved to the United States in 1965 and settled in Stoughton. Mrs. DeSousa was a dedicated homemaker and also worked at Ark-Les Switch in Stoughton for many years. She retired several years ago. Mrs. DeSousa was a member of the Portuguese National Club and was a dedicated communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church both in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She was the loving mother of Lucinda Rodrigues and Ludy Sousa both of Stoughton. Mrs. DeSousa was the grandmother of Sean Rodrigues, Justin Rodrigues and Rianna Rodrigues. She was the sister of the late Mary Rodrigues, Ligia Gonsalves, Frank Correia and John Correia and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, November 22 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
