Louise H. (Rumpf) Troy, 83, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. She was the wife of the late James G. Troy. Daughter of the late Carl and Ethel Rumpf, she was born in Boston and raised and educated in Hyde Park. She resided in Stoughton for the past 60 years. Louise was a crossing guard for the Town of Stoughton for over 20 years. She also was a bookkeeper at Kalman Electric in Stoughton for 8 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Troy was the mother of James G. Troy of Mashpee, Gary W. Troy and his wife Brenda of Weymouth, Lawrence M. Troy of Mansfield, Susan M. Oliveira of Quincy, Kathleen M. Wood of Stoughton, Donna J. Cimeno of Walpole and the late Michael C. Troy. She was the mother-in-law of Kathy Sadowski of Wisconsin. She was the sister of the late Carol Murray and Carl Rumpf. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, January 20 from 12:30-1:30 PM. Funeral Service will be private. A celebration of Louise's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
