Louis J. Green, Jr., 82, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, December 26 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Gove) Green. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1946. Mr. Green was a U.S. Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked at Eckland & O'Brien in Brockton for several years before joining the Plumber's and Pipefitters Local 51 in Rhode Island for 40 years until his retirement many years ago. He was a member of the American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton. An avid outdoorsman, in his free time, he enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Barbara L. Holland of Easton and his two brothers, Col. Albert F. Green, US Army (Ret.) of VA and Henry W. Green of Brockton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, December 30 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-7PM. Donations in Louis' name may be made to the American Legion, 400 Prospect St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
