Lorraine F. (Phillips) Roche, 98, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton on Friday, February 19, 2016. She was the wife of the late Kenneth C. Roche. Born in Brockton, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1935. Lorraine worked for JW Wood in Stoughton for 20 years then worked as a bookkeeper at Crimmins Nursing Home in Stoughton for 10 years before retiring 30 years ago. She was a member of the Stoughton Golden Agers, Mass. Catholic Women's Guild at Immaculate Conception Church and Stoughton Council on Aging. She was also a member of the Stoughton Democratic Town Committee and the Stoughton Historical Society.
Mrs. Roche is survived by her children, Barbara A. Hill of Florida, Kenneth R. "Bobby" Roche of Wareham, Florence E. Teague of South Carolina and Edward M. Roche of N. Easton. She was the sister of the late Harry F. Phillips, Jr. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 26 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to the Benevolent Society at Hellenic Nursing Home, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021.
